PMJDY is a National Mission on Financial Inclusion encompassing an integrated approach to bring about comprehensive financial inclusion of all the households in the country. The plan envisages universal access to banking facilities with at least one basic banking account for every household, financial literacy, access to credit, insurance and pension facility. In addition, the beneficiaries would get RuPay Debit card having inbuilt accident insurance cover of र 1 lakh. The plan also envisages channeling all Government benefits (from Centre / State / Local Body) to the beneficiaries accounts and pushing the Direct Benefits Transfer (DBT) scheme of the Union Government. The technological issues like poor connectivity, on-line transactions will be addressed. Mobile transactions through telecom operators and their established centres as Cash Out Points are also planned to be used for Financial Inclusion under the Scheme. Also an effort is being made to reach out to the youth of this country to participate in this Mission Mode Programme

What Services will Union Bank of India Kiosk banking provide?

Initially, Union Bank of India Kiosk banking will provide the following services:

  • Deposit of Cash
  • Withdrawal of Cash
  • Money transfer to another Union Bank of India account holder in other locations

Union Bank of India can enhance the product list of BC. However BF work shall start after stabilization of BC work.

Benefits to your customers .

  • A 'No Frill Union Bank of India Accounts' through KIOSK Banking Model
  • General purpose Credit Card (GCC)/Kisan Credit Card (KCC)
  • Term Deposit/Recurring Deposit
  • Regular Union Bank of India Saving Bank Account
  • Loans against Term Deposit Receipt (TDR) etc

Minimum requirements for set up of Union Bank of India Kiosk (CSP) outlet

Size of Outlet

  • Minimum 200-250 sq feet with a counter.
  • Adequate space to attend to 5-6 customers at a time.

System configuration

  • PC with a minimum configuration of 500 GB hard disk
  • Internet connectivity through broad band or VSAT
  • An Intel base chip of or superior provider.
  • A web cam.
  • A standard printer/scanner/Finger print device.

What type of transactions the customer will carry on?

  • This is called a no-frills account where there is no minimum balance or charges levied.
  • Maximum balance can be Rs 50000. (Balances above this can be held, but then account is converted to a regular bank account and the terms of the bank
  • Minimum Balance -Zero Balance.
  • Maximum limit of transactions is Rs 20,000/- per day.
  • No Cheque book is issued.
  • Only Cash Transactions can be made & only in person by the account holder.
  • There is no signature required and only electronic thumb impression is used to access/use the account.
  • Customer also benefits from Long banking hours: As long as the shop is open.

Note:

  • Fixed Salary (If CSP has done minimum 50 transaction* in the month) @3500 Rs.
  • Incentive on Float@ 2.5 % (Maximum Rs. 1000/-) @ 500 Rs.
  • If any CSP is doing more than 100 transactions in a month, s/he will get an additional Rs. 2/- per incremental transaction of the month.
  • Addition to this a CSP can earn by acquiring new customer @ Rs. 20/- per new customer.
  • All CSP point should be fixed point where a customer can visit & do normal banking transactions.
